Here is a challenge for you! If you can watch this video and NOT be excited for Killzone 3 then I will mail you a box of figurative cookies. Seriously, this video really opened my eyes about how much Guerrilla Games really listened to their community in regards to the controls.

The guys at GG know they are competing with behemoths like Call of Duty: Black Ops and even Halo, so it’s no surprise that they are putting nothing less then 150% in the next installment in the Killzone Universe. ONe thing that particularly caught my eye was the new “Sliding Cover” feature. It is something that has been implemented before (Gears of War, Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter, Crysis 2) but to see it look so fluid in the game is a treat to the eyes.

When the beta drops on February 3rd you bet your ass I will be joining the frantic battlefields of Killzone 3 with the Versa crew.

While I do love to tear it up with the Versa crew in Black Ops one game I have grown to love and appreciate is MAG. The 256 player FPS has seen some amazing success this past year and with a 15th patch coming out (Zipper is always looking to improve the game), and SOCOM 4 inbound very soon, Zipper is a busy group of guys!

Here are some of the amazing stats that MAG has put up over the past year:

Since MAG was released on January 26, 2010, players have amassed nearly 2 billion kills and earned more than 38 billion experience points
That crazy kill and XP feat was accomplished in just over 46 million hours, equivalent to more than 5,200 years of game time
Of all our different modes, your favorite game type to play has been Sabotage, with Suppression coming in second place
All told, over 1.6 million matches have been played in MAG in first year – that’s an average of nearly 183 games per hour, every hour of every day!
Those big numbers were put up by some very dedicated players. We’ve seen more than 100,000 players put in more than 100 hours each, which we think is quite incredible
We’ve also seen more than 80,000 unique players achieve veteran status, with roughly 17,000 eligible to take the leap at this moment. That’s dedication!

I came across a funny little video on the interwebz today. The sick minds at EA decied to subject 200 Moms to the gruesome violence in Dead Space 2 and every single Mom hated it.

I usually like to post about video game stuff but I often find myself amused by the simple things we find on the interwebz. One of those things is the ToneMatrix. It’s a very simple audio synthesizer that uses little white cubes to convey a unique sound on the board. The FTW image above was made using the ToneMatrix and it actually gave off a nice little beat.

Crysis 2 is looking pretty awesome. For some reason the gameplay seemed awfully familiar to Brink. Let’s see how this game plays out since the Multiplayer Demo drops TODAY!

If that wasn’t good enough for you, It was just announced that the Killzone 3 Public Beta will release on February 3rd! What’s better is when the full game releases on February 22nd you will also get an invite to the SOCOM 4 Beta! Madness I know.
